Description
nuMIDAS, the New Mobility Data & Solutions Toolkit, is a Horizon 2020 project which aims to bridge the (knowledge) gap between decision making and the new mobility ecosystem, based on new stakeholders, emerging mobility offerings and associated (big) data. Through extensive research, nuMIDAS provides insights into which methodological tools, databases, and models are required, and how existing ones need to be adapted or augmented with new data.
To this end, nuMIDAS has collaborated hand-in-hand with policymakers from Milan, Leuven, Barcelona Metropolitan Area and Thessaloniki to identify mobility challenges present in each city and the necessary data needed to develop a decision-support tool. Through an iterative approach nuMIDAS has created a tangible and readily available toolkit including tools linked with micromobility planning, air quality analysis, traffic scenarios and on-street planning that can be deployed elsewhere.
