IoTa: Applications for Cities

Description

IoT Applications for Cities (IoTa) project offers professional training and use case definition to leverage Internet of Things systems in Urban Mobility initiatives. IoTa project is funded by EIT Urban Mobility, and it aims to increase awareness of IoT technology and its practical applications in mobility segments. Two pieces of training, in nanoMOOC format [*], were developed under the framework of the project:

  1. Basis in IoT: The course provides the fundamentals for IoT systems and their application in the urban mobility sector. The contents start with a conceptualisation of IoT and its approach to designing IoT systems into technological ecosystems, platforms, and architectures.
  2. IoT Applications for Urban Mobility: The course provides specific solutions for IoT systems in the urban mobility sector. The contents start with an explanation of those main IoT elements and then provide a list of use cases to learn about the IoT technology perspective for the development of transport, logistics, and social engagement.

[*] The nanoMOOCs offer short and focused training centered on a single competence. Nanomoocs make intensive use of technologies to improve the user experience and learning process.
