Decision-support toolkit designed to help governmental institutions and mobility providers bridge the digital gap present in mobility and create more inclusive policies, products and services for all.

Description

The overarching goal of DIGNITY (Digital transport in and for society) is to foster a sustainable, integrated and user-friendly digital travel eco-system that improves accessibility and social inclusion, along with the travel experience and daily life of all citizens. The project delves into the digital mobility eco-system to grasp the full range of factors that might lead to a digital gap and disparities in the uptake of digitalised mobility solutions by different user groups in Europe.

DIGNITY analyses the digital transition from both a user and provider’s perspective, in order to design, test and validate the DIGNITY approach, a novel concept that seeks to become the ‘ABCs for a digital inclusive travel system’. Through its participatory methodology, the project supports policy makers in formulating inclusive mobility policies and public and private mobility providers in conceiving digital mobility products or services that are accessible to and usable by as many people as possible, regardless of their income, age, gender, origin and level of disability. Piloted in Flanders, Barcelona Metropolitan Area, Ancona and Tilburg, DIGNITY engaged with decision-makers, researchers and entities who play a key role in regulating and providing transport services.
